Guitar |
Jay Ybarra is the owner and founder of the Pasadena School of Music. He studied classical and flamenco
guitar at San Jacinto College and is part of
Jando, a trio that plays nuevo flamenco.
He composes most of the songs he plays, and his music can be heard on the
Jando website. He is trained in music
theory and composition and believes that reading music is an invaluable tool for learning to play guitar.

Andrew Bateman has been playing since 1998 and performing since 2001. He studied guitar at
San Jacinto College South, and his experience has ranged from being a studio musician and composer to
performing with various groups and ensembles. Andrew is fluent in many styles including flamenco, metal,
country, folk, and progressive rock. Andrew's teaching style revolves around a mixture of theory, ear
training, technique and improvisation to aid in future composition. He also heads the recording studio
at the school.

Thomas Lee has been playing guitar since 1989 and teaching since 2003. He specializes in rock and
composition. Lee was a member of the band, Edge, for eight years and has been requested to fill in with
other bands over the years for both studio sessions and live performances. Many of Thomas' students have
gone on to form their own bands and perform for their churches.

Jeremy Ooley has been playing the drums since 1999 as well as many other percussion instruments.
Originally self taught in the church, he is now pursuing a degree in music performance. He is currently
playing percussion with the flamenco group
Jando.
His main influences include Stewart Copeland, Neil Peart, Buddy Rich, and Dave Weckl. |

Amanda Allen, a professional pianist, has 14 years of experience in the music industry.
She attended San Jacinto College where she has completed all of the courses for a music degree.
Her teaching method focuses on music theory, ear training, and sight reading. She loves teaching students
of all ages.
